Join us remotely on Monday, April 27 at 7pm for a webinar on ‘Heat Pump Technology for Home Heating, Cooling, and Hot Water.’  A heat pump can be an affordable, efficient alternative to burning fossil fuels for residential heating and cooling, and for providing hot water for the home.

In this presentation, Dr. Philip Hanser and Craig Forman will discuss applications of heat pumps and mini-split heat pump systems for the home. You will learn how heat pumps work, what types of equipment are available, and where they might be most useful. They will also introduce HeatSmart Newton, an exciting new program being launched by the City of Newton. It will educate Newton residents about heat pump technology and available financial incentives. It will help residents to find a vetted installer.

Dr. Hanser has nearly four decades of consulting experience in the energy industry and has held teaching positions at Harvard and Columbia Universities. Craig Forman is an electrical engineer and a board member of Green Newton. He previously led Green Newton’s Newton Goes Solar program to help increase the adoption of rooftop solar photovoltaic installations in our community, and he is the HeatSmart Coach for Newton’s new initiative for the promotion of heat pump technology.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing instructions on joining the webinar. Please contact  for more information.
