Program Description

SanCap Solar Connect—the new solar program initiative—is designed to offer discounted pricing for group purchase to the residents, businesses, and organizations located on the Islands of Sanibel and Captiva. SanCap Solar Connect builds upon the efforts of solar campaigns that have been successfully run across the nation. “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society, as the sponsor of SanCap Solar Connect will provide free informational Solar Community Meetings along with Urban Solar. By combining their purchasing power, program participants are eligible for a special low rate for solar electricity systems. SanCap Solar Connect has selected Urban Solar, a leading solar installer with experience working with homes and businesses across southwest Florida, as its partner in the SanCap Solar Connect program.

SanCap Solar Connect is the first- ever community- driven solarize program in Florida. The SanCap Solar initiative was made possible partially through funding from solar advocates Fred and Alice Stanback.

How it works:

  1. Sign up for a free and no-commitment solar assessment. Any information you provide will be kept confidential and only the SanCap Solar Connect program administrators and Urban Solar will have access to it.
  2. Urban Solar will contact you to ask you some questions about you and your home and answer any of your questions. If solar might be a good option for you and you want to move forward, the installer will schedule a no-cost, no-commitment home solar assessment.
  3. Urban Solar will conduct an on-site solar assessment at your home. A Solar Consultant from Urban Solar will then walk you through the proposed system design and financial proposal and answer any more questions you have.
  4. You and other community members will go solar together and enjoy all of the benefits of generating your own clean, affordable energy.
