HeatSmart Newton: a more efficient, cleaner, environmentally-friendly solution for heating, cooling and hot water for your home!
The City of Newton has been selected to participate in the 2020 HeatSmart Mass program. HeatSmart Mass is a community-based education and group purchasing program that accelerates the adoption of clean energy technologies.
The HeatSmart Newton campaign will promote air source heat pumps for space heating and cooling, as well as heat pump hot water heaters. This will make it easier for our residents to find a competent installer, conserve energy, and be more comfortable year-round while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
While HeatSmart Newton has not yet started heat pump installations, you can leave your contact info in the sign-up block below, and we'll reach out with more information soon.
WHAT IS A HEAT PUMP?
Heat pumps move heat in and out of a building—much like an air conditioner that can also run backwards to provide heating. Cold climate heat pumps offered through HeatSmart Newton can provide high-efficiency heating and hot water even when it's well below zero outside.
Heat pumps can be affordable alternatives to fossil fuel-based heating and hot water, while also providing cooling to improve home comfort. All benefits are achieved while greatly reducing harmful greenhouse gas emissions.
WHAT CAN I DO TO GET READY FOR HEATSMART?
Get a Free Home Energy Assessment through Mass Save!
A home energy assessment can help you learn more about how your home uses (and loses) energy and can identify home energy improvements that can make you more comfortable, save you money, and improve the performance of a heat pump if you choose to install one.
